this feels a little like dejavu but without the hey ive been here before
like the circumstances feel somewhat passingly familiar

We had just ascended. I know from there we took a meteor trip from others, but rising out of the green sun is as far as I've personally experienced. Maybe I'll take another nap and play catch up some time again.

uh...couple of different things.
i had electric powers when it first hit, but those went away after about a week.
which was actually a good thing because electric powers actually suck balls to tell you the truth.
like you think they would be pretty cool until you find out that you can't touch people without shocking them and you fry every electronic device that comes into your hand if you're not careful.
it's all fun and games until you accidentally blow up a bathroom.
there were some physical side effects too and they're kind of starting to go away but nowhere near fast enough.

you know what, it's probably easier to just show you.
it's not like you weren't going to find out soon enough anyway.

[And with that, he flips over to video. It should be pretty obvious why Karkat suggested John as an example of what exactly happened to the infected people. In the three months since the outbreak, the only side effects that have gone away were the golden yellow splotches all over John's skin. The stripes have dulled though they're unfortunately still visible.]

[The curly horns, fangs, blue lips, and cat-like pupils though...not so much. John swears the saber-fangs are shrinking but "shrinking" isn't "gone" and he still can't talk without drooling or lisping.]

[After about thirty seconds and a thumb's up though, it's back to text.]
