is this really how this is going to go down
this feels a little like dejavu but without the hey ive been here before
like the circumstances feel somewhat passingly familiar
me and some weird pony just hanging out and waiting to see whats up

well you won't have to worry about this just yet since you only have one pokemon but: breeding.
since they are animals that is...kind of a thing they do.
if you aren't careful, you might end up with a whole mess of eggs that you weren't planning on having to deal with.
some people seem to have more trouble with this than others though. i have been here almost two years and it only happened to me once.
and there were extenuating circumstances that one time.
but there are a couple of people who deal with this semi-regularly.
it's not necessarily a bad thing or a don't though, just a head's up in the event that you wind up with a promiscuous pokemon.
much like the ledges, hms inexplicably follow game logic.
for example, let's say you catch a pidgey while you're out there.
ignoring the fact that it's too small to carry you, you won't be able to fly on it until you get the hm, despite the fact that it has wings.
same goes for surf, cut, all that other good stuff.
doubly stupid: say i lend you my hms.
you can't STILL use them without the right badge.
let's see what else...oh!
here's a big don't.
don't lick, bite, or otherwise ingest paras shrooms.
or berries, those are for pokemon only.
and don't let the fact that this is based off of a children's video game lure you into a false sense of security.
yeah, most of the time things are pretty calm and normal and all around great.
but in addition to the rocket stuff i mentioned before, there's other weird stuff that happens from time to time.
people have gotten their souls stolen before. and there was something else weird that happened before i got here a friend mentioned.
didn't really get all the details but i think missingno was involved?
something weird like that anyway.
the gym leaders are much stronger than they were in the games, but hardly unbeatably so.
this is especially true for the kanto leaders' "elite challenge" since they use a full team of level 100s if you decide to take that.
you don't have to worry about the four move cap, luckily pokemon will remember everything they learn or that you teach them as they level up.
violet city sucks.

it's a ghost bug. kind of looks like a cicada husk, like you know after they shed?
you have to go through this really bizarre and complicated process to even get one in the first place but that's beside the point.
point is, if you look into the hole in their backs, the nab your soul.
from the sounds of things, the people who lost them were stuck in some kind of like...dream/nightmare world thing until somebody on the outside defeated the shedinja that took them.
a whole bunch of them showed up randomly in june last year.

it's weird though, because there haven't been any reports of it happening since that one time.
and there was a guy who had one prior to the incident that was perfectly harmless before, during, and after it.
but we're pretty sure team rocket had nothing to do with it.
i kind of wonder if it's just some kind of weird pokeworld phenomena.
maybe it's something that happens every thirteen years like normal cicadas back home.
i'm just hoping it doesn't happen again because it really wasn't fun for anybody involved.

i can't speak to what it was like for the people who got soul-napped, but it sucked big time for those of us who weren't.
well those of us who actually had someone close taken. i guess those who didn't just didn't care or whatever.
that was nice of him.
