[Everyone is greeted by the sound of hoofbeats today, clippity clop before things cut to video as Dave and Lady B his Rapidash exit Whitney's gym. You can distantly hear Whitney claiming it was all unfair as Nakadile walks out with him. Dave and croc fist bump and he keeps walking.]

So that's two down for this region. Probably going to gear up for the next stuff after this. But first, judging from the network mystery eggs we found at christmas are all weird.

[He directs the camera to his Zorua that's black and blue. The mischievous thing is bounding from spot to spot, hopping up on bigger things with one goal in mind.

Seconds later this goal becomes real as Dave holds his arms out and gets a bundle of fuzz in it.] Haven't ever heard of this before so, give some deets on this.

[He pauses to lightly noggie his new bro before continuing.] And what exactly is all the dragons and where. I'm on a mission.

Normally Zorua are red and black. Not that I'm complaining, she's an awesome little fuzzball. [He blinks at Trapinch as he leans forward to get a better looking.] What the shit is that?

Oh! So they're the shinies! Oh goodness, no wonder I keep thinking I see sparkles! [Turning the feed so Dave can see better, Jane crouches down.]

Well, the Pokedex said he is a Trapinch. He looks a bit like an antlion, and keeps trying to -- [Do exactly what he's doing now, which is digging a hole through the snow until he reaches dirt and starts kicking it up.] No, come back here!

That's what I heard, yeah. [And there he goes. Wow. That's really hilariously entertaining. Dave snickers and pushes up his shades.] Got any idea what it evolves into? A ground type is good to have, I'm assuming he's ground. His fondness for the dirt seems to speak of his calling.

Not the slightest, and yes, he's definitely a ground type! I'm not too sure what to name him yet either [Speaking around her little grunts of trying to drag the Pokemon back out of the dirt, yup] but I've been stuck on some names for several of the newer ones.

Looks like a pinchy to me. He's got the trap for it. [Love his jokes. You know you want to.]

[She started to say "pinchy is such a boring name!" until he finished, and then she just laughs a bit.] Like a bear trap, I swear he could cut a tree down with jaws like this!

Probably. Might learn headbutt so you could get a look at what's in the trees that look weird.

Oh? Have you done that and made a Pokemon fall out before?

Not yet. I need to comb through my crew and see which one knows it. Spending a day just knocking into trees sounds like a chill time.

It does! If my Trapinch here learns it soon enough with the training we're starting, or if any of my other Pokemon do, I think I will be joining you for that.

It gave you time to build up your teams levels at least, right? I've been here a decent amount of time and still don't have any myself.

It did. I had what I needed to take on Falkner. He's pretty cool by the way, really big on birds just like his dad. I think the great part is you can pick who you go for first. If you're not ready for fliers then you can go whack out someone else.

Hmm.. what are good choices to use against birds? Electric is all I can think of offhand, and I don't have any electric types.

Electric, rock, and steel. Keep in mind ground moves won't help you unless they use roost. Bug are not something you put against them or grass. They've got resistance to fighting moves and can take out a fighter.

I used electric types and Rapidash. One thing to try and get in the fight is speed and any status effect to whittle them down over time.

I suppose I will work on that when I go back to Violet then. What would be good against bugs, other than fire or, obviously now, flying.

Rock. It doesn’t have the problems ground types have with being on the ground so flyers which most bugs are can’t go hahahaha missed because I’m in the air.

I'll have to try and find a rock type then. Comet might not be ready for the battle since he only hatched on Christmas Day, and I don't actually have any flying types. [Though the description flying types make about ground types makes Jane giggle.]
