[You know what happens when you give two curious teenagers time to formulate an idea? Trouble.

Lots of it. The video shows Ilex Forest and the back of one Dave Strider as he whistles sharply to the Cranidos beside him. He's not alone there's a Jane Crocker to his left with another Cranidos. There's a thud as their pokemon hit the trees with their heads. At first nothing happens then an angry looking pineco drops out onto the grass.

Dave blinks.] What the tap dancing christ?

Oh! It's a Pokemon we haven't seen before! Let's see.. [She's fishing out her gear while approaching the Pineco, as it's actually really difficult to tell if it's expression is angry or not; it always looks a bit mad, especially compared to the dex image. The sudden glowing is a concern though, that has Jane taking a step back.] What in the --

[Boom. It knocks both of them back, sending Dave butt over heels to slam his back into the grass. The explosion shakes the trees and a ring of Pineco hit the ground. All at once they start to glow and he surges up covering the pokemon and Jane with a curse before the screen goes white.]

Then avoid Geodude and Graveler, as I remember those two are capable of learning that move as well; also, Voltorb. They look like pokeballs, except they're electric types and probably blow up like this does.

Oh, thank you for the advice. [ he has no idea what those look like but he can look it up later. it's good to know which ones are prone to blowing up. ]

I should really brush up on things like that, it's.. well there's obviously more Pokemon than the one hundred and fifty I do know.

[ 150 sounds like a lot but then compared to the species of animals that exists on earth...well his earth? it's really very little. ]

Hoohoo, it's only due to having played Pokemon Red when I was younger. It's a video game in my world that actually seems like it was based on this one, albeit only the Kanto region is featured.

Ah! It was a game where you came from too? I was wondering if anyone else knew the game. I never played it though but it was getting really popular.

Yes, myself and a few of my friends recognize it enough! It was popular back in it's hay-day for me, and probably still is if I weren't into baking more nowadays.

[Opening her mouth, she thinks and pauses, before rewording her question.] I think time shenanigans are in place, because didn't Red and Blue come out back in 1995? It's -- well, it was 2011 for me when I arrived here.

I'd offer to help, but it's been such a long time since I played it that I only remember the basics, such as with typing, and with some of the names.

...oh. [ he hasn't heard about the time shenanigans yet, though that should be less weird than a lot of other things he's seen here it somehow surprises him. ] It was 1999 before I came here.

[ he waves a little. ] Oh, that's okay. I think I'll figure it out eventually, thank you for the thought though.

[Time shenanigans are pretty much the only explanation for most of the things going on in her world + what people know when they arrive here.] That's pretty neat! Hey, where did you live, if you don't mind my asking? I assume Earth, what with recognizing Pokemon before coming here.

Hoohoo, really it's thanks to Dave, though I'm not done calling him crazy for leaping over me like that. It was a ridiculously heroic gesture, and one I still need to shake him for; it will have to wait until after we've both had a check up. Overall, I think we're both just sore.

Go easy on him, I'm sure the shaking won't help with the soreness. [ he suggests with a bit of a laugh. he thinks that's what any guys should do for a girl honestly. ]

Shaking and then pushing a fresh baked apple pie or something at him.
