[You know what happens when you give two curious teenagers time to formulate an idea? Trouble.

Lots of it. The video shows Ilex Forest and the back of one Dave Strider as he whistles sharply to the Cranidos beside him. He's not alone there's a Jane Crocker to his left with another Cranidos. There's a thud as their pokemon hit the trees with their heads. At first nothing happens then an angry looking pineco drops out onto the grass.

Dave blinks.] What the tap dancing christ?

Oh! It's a Pokemon we haven't seen before! Let's see.. [She's fishing out her gear while approaching the Pineco, as it's actually really difficult to tell if it's expression is angry or not; it always looks a bit mad, especially compared to the dex image. The sudden glowing is a concern though, that has Jane taking a step back.] What in the --

[Boom. It knocks both of them back, sending Dave butt over heels to slam his back into the grass. The explosion shakes the trees and a ring of Pineco hit the ground. All at once they start to glow and he surges up covering the pokemon and Jane with a curse before the screen goes white.]

[Oh dear fucking god it was a fucking tree bomb, and then there were more tree bombs and the next thing Jane knows, she's huddled on the ground with Dave trying to cover her and the Pokemon both trying to cover them. Wincing and shifting to peek up once the explosions seemed to end, Jane rubs her head a bit.]

Dave? Are you alright?

[ ...that didn't look good. Joonhee's staring at the screen in concern. ]

Um, is everyone okay? Is there a way to call for help on this thing? [ oh wait, where are they even? too many confusing functions on the pokégear damnit. ]

[Alright is a relative term. He's smarting and in pain but, reveal that?] Okay. Next time we do this, I'm going to have some of my dudes on stand by. We will have contingency plans out the ass.

[He gets up onto his knees and pulls out Nakadile and Jay. He winces.] Jay, Nak. Make sure no fires started up or there's any more around. Pop start back here if you find any trouble.

[They circle and start patrolling as he flops over on his side.] Anyway I'm peachy.

[He holds up a hand looking dusty and battered.] I'm cool, turn down the def con numbers. Got a surprise we didn't bargain for.

[ he sighs in relief, especially because he's not sure what he could have done if they weren't okay. ]

That's good. Your companions are alright as well?

[Concerned Kanaya is Concerned. Wide-eyed and concerned.]

A-are you alright?!

[The wincing is all sorts of concerning for her, even if she's wincing a little from getting caught in that first blast herself. Wiping her bangs out of her eyes and sitting up a bit, Jane sets to checking Dave for injuries he's potentially not talking about. On finding nothing more than bruises and battering, she's going to flop down next to him and hug as tight as she dared; both of them were aching.]

Peachy? Peaches bruise like tomatoes, I'll have you know, so it can't be a very comfortable feeling. [Scolding on word choice is all she can bring herself to do; she wants to shake and scold for jumping over her and putting himself in danger, but on the other hand, what a big damn hero move. God damnit.]

I.. well, we're all okay, if not a little roughed up! [Going to help in fielding the calls, since when the hell did Dave's gear turn on?]

[... holy shit.]

Oh my god, are you two okay?!

For the most part! No one is hurt outside of some bruising and ringing ears. I'm just.. I didn't know there were bloody tree bombs hiding out in the woods!

Yeah they're fine. [He glances to Jane as his Cranidos butts his head against his shoulder. Ow ow ow ow ow shit. All that he does is wince a little. He's going to be stinging for a while.] Who knew they were hanging out and waiting to burst in someone's face?

[Dave gives her a thumbs up from where he's laying in the grass. He lets his Leafeon and Glaceon out.]

I think so! No one seems too hurt other than us being bruised like a couple of tomatoes.

[Well as long as they're not dead.] You should be more careful.

It did seem rather excessive for a defensive reaction.

Seems a bit like throwing a temper tantrum. I mean it's sort of pointless to go ker-bang at anyone who bothers you.

Sorry, we didn't really expect them at all. It is certainly overly excessive! [Looking about for a moment, she turns the gear to show all of those Pineco in their knocked out states.] No, it looks like they simply all passed out after doing all that.

Ease off the Jesus, we're doing fine.

[Or being dead. That also doesn't sound too pleasant. Though, all this reminds him of...something.]

You know, I think John told me something about exploding pine cones....

Dave, that was an alarming amount of explosions that went off right next to you!
