[A kid with rad shades on adjusts the feed, and if you look closely you can see his left eyebrow is twitching a little.]

Okay, so. After that, [A pause as he looks off screen, away from the end of cycling road that stretches upwards behind him.] report.

[Twitching in that eyebrow just gets worse. It has nearly reached out of control levels. Dave mutters a few swear words and steps out of the frame after kicking the stand on his bike down so it stays in place. He appears a moment later.]

Anyway. Getting to the point of all this. First off, newcomers, yo. Yes this is a real place and if you got questions, just ask'em.

[He holds up a hand and a large Salamence with pointy shades lands quietly at his side.]

To anyone around longer than a week. There was a survey going round before about gathering up who has rolled through here and what worlds have the most representation. We were looking for patterns or something like that. Couldn't find the results, for those of you I talked to. I figure we might as well do another one.

I'll even forgo my red text and do this properly. Because it isn't a joke, it's a fact finding tour of the gear network.

Force of habit [shrug!] if you really want the details, it's like this: Our world is separated into the realm where humans dwell, the realm where spirits dwell--some would call it "the afterlife"--and the realm where demons dwell. That doesn't mean that any of these factions stay in their own domain, no, demons slip through to interact with humans, humans end up in the demon realm accidentally or come to the spirit world when they die. Demons these days aren't causing very much trouble, but in case they do we have our Spirit Detective to deal with them. He takes on "cases" day to day to keep the balance between all three worlds.

[That sure was an exposition dump.]

Actually, two that are here now are demons, one is the Spirit Detective I mentioned.

[Something occurs to her! Is it the fact that she forgot to mention how she factors into all of this? Nope, of course not.]

Oh dear, that was inaccurate, we have myself and four others from my world as far as I know at the moment. This one's just a regular human, though she knows a little bit about the goings on I'm mentioning. [Depending on what time she's from anyway, her knowledge varies.]

I don't, there's a variety in our group who could have been here, but I'm almost certain asking around about names like Kuwabara, Hiei, Kurama, Shizuru, Yukina and assorted others would just get me blank looks.

Depends on how long ago they were here. Some of the veterans of living in this universe might remember those names. You never know.
