Okay, so. After that, [A pause as he looks off screen, away from the end of cycling road that stretches upwards behind him.] report.

[Twitching in that eyebrow just gets worse. It has nearly reached out of control levels. Dave mutters a few swear words and steps out of the frame after kicking the stand on his bike down so it stays in place. He appears a moment later.]

Anyway. Getting to the point of all this. First off, newcomers, yo. Yes this is a real place and if you got questions, just ask'em.

[He holds up a hand and a large Salamence with pointy shades lands quietly at his side.]

To anyone around longer than a week. There was a survey going round before about gathering up who has rolled through here and what worlds have the most representation. We were looking for patterns or something like that. Couldn't find the results, for those of you I talked to. I figure we might as well do another one.

I'll even forgo my red text and do this properly. Because it isn't a joke, it's a fact finding tour of the gear network.

So do you guys have a term for doing that? Or do you just describe it all the time? [He's curious. Really curious. It's his aspect and that's a familiar line of reasoning.]

We sort of do, but we don't use it out loud in public. What we're doing is fighting to change or prevent fate, so that's what we're going with.

[When it's only their group receiving the emails, Atsuro knows better than anyone else to let the public knows about their source. Tension's high enough with the tamers seeing the death clocks everywhere. No need to add even more fuel to the fire.]

You know the Tower of Babel from the Bible? Humans build it, God doesn't like it and struck it down, shattering the common language into many different languages.

There's a religious group, the Shomonkai, who believes because of technology, we overcome our language barriers and hold up the Internet as the modern Babel. Because they believe that, they believe God will bring down another ordeal. To prepare themselves for it, they hired my teacher, Naoya, to create the Demon Summoning Program and start recruiting people.

[He should ask Naoya how did they approach him. It's a leap to go from "genius programmer" to "genius programmer that can connect magic and technology".]

Because the angels notice it, they tipped the government about the Shomonkai and tell them to handle it. If they can't, the angels will take away humanity's autonomy and rule over us instead.

Somehow, the modded COMPs with the summoning program got leaked outside of the Shomonkai. When the demons started appearing, the SDF put the city under lockdown to contain them and the demon tamers. Because if demons got out, or the method of summoning, the world will obviously be at risk.
